Book Review: Dragon Hoard and Other Tales of Faerie by Cathleen Townsend

Dragon Hoard and Other Tales of Faerie by Cathleen Townsend

I received a free electronic copy of this book via Voracious Readers Only. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.

Dragon Hoard and Other Tales of Faerie by Cathleen Townsend is a collection of 10 short stories mixing fantasy with various time periods in unexpected ways. From a dragon conversing with his stock broker to what took place on Mt. Olympus during the Trojan War.

This is a fun collection of stories for all ages. Townsend presents alternate angles to much loved fantasy elements while still holding true to the magical feeling of fairytales. It’s interesting to see Faerie brought into modern times rather than the Medieval period we’re used to seeing them set in. Nowadays, dragons have stock brokers and witches run online marketing companies. Anything is possible when you mix myth and magic with modern technology.

Read Grimm’s Fairytales and appreciate the originals. But also add Dragon Hoard and Other Tales of Faerie by Cathleen Townsend into the mix and enjoy updated stories. The entire book takes about an hour or two to read and is sure to be enjoyed by readers of any age.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you have a lovely day!

XOXO ~ Rosie
